Calling All Tweets December 5! DRBC Frack Ban Needs Your Support!

Join the Twitter Storm on Tuesday, Dec. 5, to tell the voting members of the Delaware River Basin Commission - the Governors of Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Delaware and the Army Corps of Engineers - we want a complete ban on fracking and all related activities in the Delaware River Watershed, including a ban on frack wastewater dumping and water exports for fracking! As required by the DRBC Commissioners’ September resolution, draft natural gas regulations have been posted that would ban high volume fracking throughout the Delaware River Basin but would also open the door to the discharge of frack wastewater in the Watershed and the export of water out of the basin for fracking elsewhere.  See our coalition’s press release.

We’ve been advocating for a full and permanent ban on natural gas drilling and fracking and all related activities (including wastewater processing and discharges from and water withdrawals for drilling and fracking operations) throughout the Delaware River Watershed in a concerted public campaign. Now we need to reach our goal of a full ban. We’re starting out with a fury of tweets this Tuesday Dec. 5 to the Commissioners to underscore that we will not accept anything less than a complete ban.
