The public has been storming the Delaware River Basin Commission meetings this year to support a permanent ban on drilling and fracking in the Delaware River Watershed. On June 14, the DRBC Commissioners – the Governors of PA, NY, NJ and DE and the Trump Administration’s federal representative from the Army Corps -- will meet for the last time until the fall. Let’s use the public comment period to tell them why we, as individuals, oppose allowing fracking and why we support a complete drilling ban.

Concern that the DRBC may be considering lifting the current moratorium has spurred a fury of public opposition and fueled the campaign to ban fracking and drilling in the Basin. The Governors and the feds are the voting members who will choose between fracking and a ban. They need to hear directly from those who would be impacted – you.

Join your friends and neighbors during the meeting’s public comment session to IDENTIFY yourself – who you are, your profession, where you live, what you value and love about the river and its watershed that you will fight to protect from the ravages of gas development. Since big signs can’t be brought in the building, wear a t-shirt that makes your statement. To make an informed choice, the DRBC needs to understand where we are all coming from, why we want a ban. Let’s tell them, even if we only have 2 minutes each!
