DRBC Frack Ban Public Hearing 2
Speak up for Clean Water and Pollution Prevention!
The Delaware River Basin Commission is holding the only public hearings they have planned this coming Wednesday, December 8 and next Wednesday, December 15 on their draft regulations on fracking wastewater import and water export from the Delaware River Watershed. The hearings are virtual.
Please join us to verbally testify about why you want DRBC to categorically ban the import of wastewater produced by fracking and ban the export of Delaware River water for fracking elsewhere. We need to tell them that a complete ban on allowing this toxic and radioactive wastewater from entering the watershed is essential to prevent its pollution. DRBC is proposing to ban the discharge of this wastewater to water and land, which is absolutely necessary, but loopholes in the proposed rules allow the processing, storage, reuse and indirect discharge here. And water can be exported, depleting our stream and river flows and quality, and degrading habitats – as well as enabling fracking’s devastation in other places! Please sign up now for a FULL BAN.
