At their monthly meeting on September 25th, the Town of Highland Planning Board did not accept Camp FIMFO’s draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). The Planning Board has held several important meetings regarding the draft EIS and Camp FIMFO environmental review process, which have been open for the public to attend at Highland Town Hall. The Planning Board also audio records these meetings for their records. However, when the Delaware Riverkeeper Network has asked to gain access to these audio recordings in order to make them available to the public, the Township has held a stipulation that the audio must be listened to by appointment and in-person only.
Have you or your neighbors been unable to make it to the Town of Highland Planning Board meetings? Would you like digital access to the audio recordings so that you can listen at a time that fits with your schedule? Do you believe the Town should make all of these audio files available to the community so that everyone can be fully aware of what is being said regarding Camp FIMFO?
The Delaware Riverkeeper Network would like to know how much interest there is in participating in an action to protest the lack of access to these audio recordings. If you would be interested in joining, please send an email to our River Advocacy Fellow at Skylar@delawareriverkeeper.org with the subject line ‘I’m in.’
Together, we can fight for accessibility and availability of information regarding this proposed development project in the Upper Delaware region– which has implications not only for the Town of Highland but for up- and downstream communities as well!
