On March 6, 2026, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) entered into a proposed consent decree regarding the remediation of the Bishop Tube toxic site. While PADEP, the responsible corporations and the developer have had years to discuss, assess, debate and negotiate the current remediation plan, the public is only being given a mere 60 days to review all the data and plans for the remediation, the applicable law, the contents of the consent decree, and then being expected to put forth public comment on this consent decree by a May 14th Deadline.
