WHAT? Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) public meeting -- opportunity to speak up!
WHEN? Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 10:30 am
WHERE? Narrowsburg, NY at the Tusten Theatre, 210 Bridge St.
While most of the DRBC meetings are now virtual, this public meeting will be held in person along the Delaware River in New York. It is an important opportunity to make our community voices and presence heard.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? Climate Change is happening across the world in big and small ways, and it is happening right in our backyard too. One of the biggest issues we are experiencing in our region is more frequent severe storms, and increased runoff, flooding risk and record heat. As a result, we have seen the mounting costs of environmental loss, economic loss, destructive habitat and fish and wildlife impacts, and even more distressing, the loss of human lives. The DRBC has jurisdiction over certain permits, projects, developments, and environmental initiatives that play into whether the climate crisis pushes us closer to the edge, or pulls us back.
Your comments to the DRBC urging them to make not just reactive, but proactive choices, to combat climate change are essential to send the message that local communities need more action from the DRBC and that DRBC truly has a role to play in combatting climate change in the decisions it makes on projects.

No registration is required to attend the business meeting; however, attendees are subject to DRBC’s meeting procedures and security screening.
What is happening? We will be meeting at the Narrowsburg Union at 7 Erie Ave, Narrowsburg, NY 12764 at 9:30 am for a short press conference. After this, we will walk to the Tusten Theatre for the DRBC business meeting. Once arrived, we will stay for the meeting and supporting those who have signed up to speak.
