Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 10 am to 1 pm
Meet at the intersection of
(east of Cuthbert Blvd)
MLK Jr. Day of Service - Cooper River Park and Edison Woods Trash Pick-up and Invasive Plants Removal. A volunteer event for the entire family. Dress for the weather. You will be working around thorny plants, so wear rugged clothing you won’t care too much if it gets stuck.
Volunteers will be provided heavy-duty work gloves, trash bags, grabbers and rakes.
Please bring:
- Refillable water bottle to stay hydrated
- Signed waivers (see both Haddon Township’s and Delaware Riverkeeper Network’s ATTACHED). We will have some on-hand but appreciate if volunteers bring their own signed by the appropriate adult.
- Optional: Hand pruners, sturdy screwdrivers or crowbars for prying and small hand saws to cut-back invasive vines. Please label with your information if you bring along.
Why should you help? Both trash and introduced plants can harm local wildlife, plant diversity and water quality of our waterways – plus, it just looks bad. Introduced plants, such as English ivy, do not provide the food source and habitat the area’s wildlife depend on and reduces plant diversity by crowding-out local species.
