Attend the planning board meeting on CAMP FIMFO’s inadequate draft EIS!
The Town of Highland Planning Board is currently reviewing Camp FIMFO’s draft Environmental Impact Statement (draft EIS) to determine whether it is “adequate” per guiding New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQR) regulations. At this time, NO versions of the Camp FIMFO draft EIS have been deemed “adequate” by the Town of Highland Planning Board.
Delaware Riverkeeper Network has identified concerns with the Planning Board’s proposed review process for the draft EIS, which as described in the meeting minutes, does not comply with SEQR. We have submitted a letter to the Planning Board outlining these procedural concerns, as well as concerns about the lack of publicly accessible, timely, and clear information about the legal review process-- which has already led to the spreading of harmful misinformation about the status of Camp FIMFO’s proposal.
Please join us at the Town of Highland Planning Board meeting on August 28th at 6PM to listen to Camp FIMFO discussions, share any concerns you may have with how the review process is being conducted, and urge the Board members to REJECT the Camp FIMFO draft EIS as inadequate under the law.
