This fall, you can choose one of two bike rides!
- For those looking to exercise and socialize, we are offering an 18-mile ride to Frenchtown, NJ and back to Bulls Island Recreation Area. If you have joined us in recent years, this is the ride you experienced.
- New this year is our second, longer bike ride which will continue through Frenchtown, NJ, to the end of the D&R Canal State Park Trailhead. At the Trailhead, riders will turn around and make their way back to Bulls Island. This ride will be the first to depart Bulls Island. With an extra 4 miles added to your trip, this ride is perfect for those looking for a fun and rewarding challenge!
This year, riders will depart Bulls Island in small groups with staggered starts about 15-minutes apart. Groups will be separated based on the route to be taken and riders' preferred pace.
If you're new to the Delaware Riverkeeper Network’s Ride Along The River, WELCOME! The terrain for the ride is mostly flat and the towpath is a fine-cinder, hard-packed dirt trail. We will have a lead and sweep rider for every ride group, so no one is left behind. If you're lucky, you'll find yourself next to one of the great tour guides from our staff.
This is a family-friendly event. We just ask that you keep the distance in mind if you plan to bring young children.
Proceeds from registration fees go towards the important work we undertake to protect our beautiful Delaware River Watershed. This is a great opportunity to support the Delaware Riverkeeper Network's efforts to protect the Delaware River, its tributaries, and communities; have the chance to connect with fellow members; and learn about the work the Delaware Riverkeeper Network is involved in.
Registration, Waivers, AND HELMETS are required for this ride.
Because of the risks involved with physical activity of this sort, proof of medical insurance will need to be provided by participants. This information is kept private and is only a precaution in the event of a medical emergency. Paperwork required by participants will be sent via the email you used to sign up. Please keep an eye on your inbox for additional information and forms.
