In-Person Workshop at Berks Nature
Saturday, October 18 @ 10 AM EDT
Join us for the first in-person workshop that is a part of our Activist-In-Training Program running through April 2026! Discussions will cover various community organizing skills and topics including how to request information from government agencies, engaging at various levels of decision making, Berks County regional stream quality, and local and regional land and and river threats.
The Delaware Riverkeeper Network and Berks Nature will be leading this workshop and we encourage you to come ready with questions and to engage for a cleaner Schuylkill River and Berks County streams! This workshop is made possible by a mini grant from the Berks County Community Foundation.
Anyone can join our Community Activist-In-Training Workshops. These will be a combination of in-person and virtual meetings for all registered participants over the next few months. Dates and opportunities to engage in real issues facing the watershed and Berks Co will be emailed to you as they are announced!
If you would like to take your activism further, there will be an opportunity for five Berks County emerging leaders between the ages of 15-24 to participate in hands on conservation, empowerment, and citizen engagement work. These applied and real-world grass-roots opportunities will work directly to help the environmental health of Berks County watersheds and communities. This is a great opportunity to gain real-world experience to add to your resume and to get a taste of working side by side with environmental grass roots professionals, community concerned residents, and organizers!
If you are an interested in one of the 5 open mentee slots and live in Berks County, please reach out by email to faith@delawareriverkeeper.org or by phone at 215-369-1188 ext. 110 for more details.
