Riparian Buffer and Species Diversity Planting

October 4, 2025

Join the Delaware Riverkeeper Network, Pottstown NAACP, and Pottstown Parks and Rec in our tree-planting extravaganza!

We will be planting 40 trees along the riparian buffer of the Manatawny Creek in Pottstown, PA. These new trees will help enhance the diversity of tree species in the Pottstown area, strengthen the current riparian buffer to provide greater stormwater benefits to the area, provide new habitat and shelter for wildlife, and shade for recreational users of the Schuylkill River Trail. This is a great opportunity to give back to the environment and meet fellow tree-lovers at the same time! During the tree planting you will learn about the different species that are being planted, as well as the positive benefits they provide.
